DTC U0316:09 [VEHICLE CONTROL MODULE (V/C-MODULE)]



System malfunction location

Error signal received from DSC HU/CM

Detection condition

  • There is an error in the following signals sent from the DSC HU/CM.

    • Yaw rate signal

    • Lateral-G signal

    • Longitudinal-G signal

    • Wheel speed signal

    • Brake fluid pressure signal

    • Cruise control system control signal

    • Signal error in brake light circuit

Fail-safe

  • Inhibits the Mazda radar cruise control (MRCC) system control

  • Inhibits the forward obstruction warning (FOW) system control

Possible cause

  • SAS control module malfunction

  • DSC HU/CM malfunction

  • Rear body control module (RBCM) malfunction

  • Vehicle control module (V/C-module) malfunction

PERFORM DTC INSPECTION FOR SAS CONTROL MODULE

Yes

Go to the applicable DTC inspection.

(See DTC TABLE [STANDARD DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM].)

(See DTC TABLE [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM].)

Then go to Step 5.

No

Go to the next step.

PERFORM DTC INSPECTION FOR DSC HU/CM

Yes

Go to the applicable DTC inspection.

(See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSIS [DYNAMIC STABILITY CONTROL (DSC)].)

Then go to Step 5.

No

Go to the next step.

PERFORM DTC INSPECTION FOR REAR BODY CONTROL MODULE (RBCM)

Yes

Go to the applicable DTC inspection.

(See DTC TABLE [REAR BODY CONTROL MODULE (RBCM)].)

Then go to Step 5.

No

Go to the next step.

PERFORM DTC INSPECTION FOR VEHICLE CONTROL MODULE (V/C-MODULE)

Yes

Replace the DSC HU/CM, then go to the next step.

(See DSC HU/CM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

No

Go to the next step.

5

VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED

Yes

Repeat the inspection from Step 1.

Go to the next step.

No

Go to the next step.

6

VERIFY THAT NO OTHER DTCs ARE PRESENT
  • Verify other DTCs displayed.

  • Are any other DTCs output?

Yes

Perform the corresponding DTC inspection.

No

DTC troubleshooting completed.
